#BeautyFind: B’leau Glacial Oceanic Clay Mask

We’re kicking February off with another series on STYLE Canada#BeautyFind Friday, otherwise known as your new #BFF. Every Friday, STYLE editor Anastasia Barbuzzi will present you with a #BeautyFind to help you enjoy a weekend of self-love and care like no other. She’s all over the green beauty scene and on #BeautyFind Fridays, she’ll be giving you the inside scoop on products and brands that are changing the space, and one’s you’ve just gotta try. Let’s get started!

At this stage in the natural skincare game, there’s few things more cliché than a “detoxifying” clay mask. Now, there’s an exception to the rule: B’leau’s Glacial Oceanic Clay Mask. It’s making waves with a rare form of Canadian Oceanic Clay found only in B.C., sourced from sparkling West Coast glaciers.

First impressions: Before you get to experience the feel of this mask’s silky-smooth texture, you first have to handle the gorgeous container it comes in. Resembling a cool blue, underwater glacier diamond (if there ever were such a thing), the Glacial Oceanic Clay Mask‘s packaging is fit for an Ice Queen. It dazzles like a Tiffany’s diamond, glistening in the lights of your vanity and beckoning you to crack it open.

Talkin’ specifics: The Glacial Oceanic Clay Mask‘s star ingredient is (you guessed it) glacial oceanic clay that’s been enriched by the turning tides of the ocean for several centuries. B’leau actually works with the government in B.C. to ensure eco-friendly sourcing of this ingredient, which is loaded with over 60 unique minerals that help refine pores, restore radiance, detoxify, and rehydrate the skin. Glacial Oceanic Clay also contains anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing properties. It’s a gentle, natural exfoliant that promotes circulation and hinders the degradation of collagen as well. And not only is the Glacial Oceanic Clay Mask free from a list full of synthetic chemicals and preservatives, its an organic, cruelty-free, and 100 per cent vegan formulation too.

The experience: One pop of the lid and a subtle, sweet floral scent pulls your nose right into this little pool of Glacial Oceanic Clay combined with hydrating aloe vera, moisturizing coconut oil, and magnolia bark extract – a superstar anti-inflammatory and redness-reducing ingredient. After 15 minutes, the Glacial Oceanic Clay Mask takes a bit of time to remove, but for all the right reasons – the clay turns into a luscious cream when it comes into contact with water and leaves your skin feeling like you’ve just applied an expensive moisturizer.

The verdict: This mask gets major bonus points for texture and effectiveness. The morning after my personal Glacial Oceanic Clay Mask trial, the look and feel of my complexion was noticeably softer, and I’m game for anything that improves the texture of my skin. Plus, the packaging is so pretty that I want to put it on display, show my friends, and maybe even use it as a jewellery box. Would recommend.
