Bachelor Canada: Five Wine-Based Beverages Perfectly Paired for the Finale

A single glass of wine an episode is a rite of passage for us Bachelor fans. As a special treat for The Bachelor Canada finale, we created five next-level wine-based beverages that pair perfectly with your favorite reality TV. Pick your poison.

This season of the Bachelor Canada has been all too familiar: Scandal, a sense of unrealistic expectations for your own relationship after every passionate one-on-one, and the resident crazy girl we all love to hate. We came, we saw and we bonded over another season of trash TV. Although that’s more than enough reason to celebrate, a single glass of wine an episode is simply a rite of passage for us Bachelor fans. But, like the Bachelor himself, we all need some variety. The finale is a special occasion, so grab the girls, and pick your poison. Here are five next-level wine-based beverages perfectly paired with the best in prime time.

A Spicy Night

Sweat it out like you spent a night in the Fantasy Suite. This one’s spicy, full of personality and guaranteed to make you blush.

5oz. Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc
1.5oz. Jalapeño Simple Syrup*
2oz. Grapefruit Juice
Splash of Cucumber Mint 7up
Splash of Club soda

Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit and slice of jalapeño.

*Jalapeño Simple Syrup: Combine 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar and 1 1/2 cups of water in a saucepan with 7 chopped, seeded jalapeños. Cook over medium low heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally. Let cool for 20 minutes then strain Jalapeños. The longer you soak the jalapeños in the syrup, the spicier it will be. Store in the refrigerator.

A Million Broken Hearts

Leave the broken spirits to the women on the ‘tell all’ couch. This fresh white mint-pomegranate sangria fits the finale like a glove.

1 bottle Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc
8-10 Mint leaves
2 Tbsp. sugar
Six heaping tablespoons pomegranate seeds

Prepare simple syrup by mixing sugar and water in a pot using a 1:1 sugar-water ratio. Add 6 mint leaves to the pot and simmer.  Once simple syrup is ready, add 1 Tablespoon to each wine glass. Then add mint leaves and stir/muddle lightly. Next add several heaping tablespoons of pomegranate seeds to each glass. Top off with wine and let set for a few minutes so the flavors can meld together. Top off with more wine and pomegranate seeds as needed.

The Final Rose

When the last few petals hit the screen, and Chris Leroux is officially off the market, cope with this finale sangria. Light, refreshing and deliciously garnished, you’ll want a re-fill or two of this tasty cocktail. Careful though, you may end up with a hangover that lasts longer than any bachelor engagement.

1 bottle of Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc
1 cup cranberry juice
1 can Cranberry Ginger ale
1 cup cranberries
1/2 cup Pomegranate seeds
1 Red apple, cut up
1 Green Macintosh apple, cut up
1 Stick of rosemary

Combine all ingredients and let sit 5-8 hours.
Serve with rosemary and soaked fruit.
