What is #GivingTuesday, and where to donate this year?
What is #GivingTuesday, and where to donate this year? The holiday season is starting, and we know it is the perfect moment to help each other. For those unfamiliar with Giving Tuesday, here you can read what it is about and which are your charity options to donate to this year.
It should be noted that it started in New York City in 2012 as a fundraiser, but the holiday became worldwide to combat the shopping season as a reminder to spread generosity and heightened consumerism.
Also, it is a day that gives an opportunity to people to do good.
Where can I donate?
For those interested in donating this #GivingTuesday, here are some great charity options where we can give back a little of everything we have.
Pink Pearl Canada
First, we have Pink Pearl Canada, which “Is a community-oriented charitable organization that provides support, facilitates connections and empowers self-identifying young women who are courageously overcoming the social and emotional challenges of being diagnosed with cancer across Canada.” (Pink Pearl Canada Website, 2022)

Canadian Feed the Children
Secondly, the “Canadian Feed The Children takes a community-led approach to development by working through local partners to help people achieve long-term change for children, families and communities. We focus on food security and education as catalysts of change and capacity-building that ensures sustainability.” (Canadian Feed The Children Website, 2022)

“the edit” charity shopping events this year
We are very excited to share with you all the charity shopping events we’ve been doing this year, where a certain percentage of the earnings were donated to the charities we will mention.
First, on October 24th, we collaborated with Big Brothers Big Sisters, an organization that has been championing the health and well-being of youth. Secondly, with Pink Pearl on November 10th.
Additionally, we will have the last one of the year on December 5th for the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation.
Don’t forget to visit our chic general store, ‘the edit,’ at 1-233 King Street in Niagara-On-The-Lake from Thursdays to Mondays from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
