On February 28th, 2018, Pink Shirt Day is encouraging everyone to stand up to cyberbullying and help make the World Wide Web a more kind and positive space. That’s right, Instagrammers: Nice Needs No Filter. And that just happens to be the theme of this year’s official Pink Shirt Day campaign.

The annual Pink Shirt Day event started back in 2007 with two Nova Scotian teens, who wore pink to stand in solidarity with a fellow student who had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Now over a decade later, thousands of Canadians, both children, and adults alike wear pink on Pink Shirt Day to show their support against bullying.
In our opinion, the most stylish thing you can wear on February 28th is pink. Not just because you’ll look fabulous (because you definitely will), but because you’ll also be supporting a great cause at the same time. By purchasing an official ‘Nice Needs No Filter’ Pink Shirt Day t-shirt at London Drugs, net proceeds will support youth anti-bullying programs throughout Western Canada, including Boys and Girls Clubs across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. These programs help kids learn empathy and compassion and teach them to stand up for themselves and others.
Style is about expressing ourselves, so why not take the opportunity on Pink Shirt Day to express your support against bullying? It’s our chance to help spread the message that with education and encouragement, we can make our schools, workplaces, communities, and the internet, kinder and more inclusive.
Join the initiative and wear your official Pink Shirt Day tee on February 28th, because in 2018: Nice Needs No Filter.
And of course, if you’re Instagramming, Tweeting, or Facebooking your Pink Shirt Day #ootd on February 28th, make sure to tag #pinkshirtday in your posts to show your support for this powerful anti-bullying message!
