This International Women’s Day, Vanouver-based indie-beauty brand Evio is donating half a million dollars’ worth of its personal care products to women’s organizations across North America. Among them is Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter, where founder Brandi Leifso lived in 2012 when she began creating the concept for her beauty company.
Evio Beauty supplies are also being donated to organizations like Beauty Night Society, Mamas for Mamas, UO Glow and Called to Rescue, as well as the brand’s longtime partner, the Homeward Bound Program by WoodGreen.
“Today we acknowledge and celebrate that we have gotten to where we are because of the women who came before us and that we have a responsibility to carry the torch on the road to deconstruct the patriarchy,” said Leifso. “We believe that to get there, we need to uplift all women, especially those who are experiencing challenging circumstances firsthand – because they will be the leaders of change.”
Launched on International Women’s Day in 2019, Evio’s Canadian-made cosmetic and skincare products are affordable, inclusive, vegan, cruelty-free and consciously packaged. Through her company, Leifso has truly created a judgement-free zone where beauty, made with good-for-you ingredients, builds community.
