Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a mom of 3 beautiful daughters, a lover of all animals and incredibly passionate about the immense, creative talent we have in this country. I have worked in an array of industries including fashion, retail, music and entertainment, and for several charities. I love connecting people and watching new opportunities grow and flourish and nothing makes me happier than travelling and discovering new places.

Being a Changemaker is all about knowing where you come from and to have the courage to take a new step forward. What gives you courage to live out your story?
I am always seeking new experiences because in that discovery lies inspiration for me. I love listening to people’s stories and what drives their journey. This in turn ignites a light in me to be creative and do more. I also love being a part of various communities and building community. This always makes me feel supported. I am blessed to have an incredibly supportive family and friends who I have the fortune to lean on when self-doubt and uncertainty creeps in.
Everyone’s story is comprised of many chapters, what was one of the most influential ones in your journey?
One of the most influential moments in my journey is when I left my full time job to work on building CAFA and the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards. It was a risk to leave a comfortable job with a stable salary and benefits to build something from scratch, not knowing whether it will be a success or not. With the support of my family I left my job and began this new chapter in the world of fashion and in creating a platform that would become very meaningful and impactful for the Canadian fashion industry. I am so happy I took that leap because it led me to the most amazing opportunities, experiences and relationships.

What would your 15 year old self be most proud of that you have accomplished?
I think my 15 yr old self would be most proud of the confidence I have now. When I was younger I was more shy and quiet and I did not think I could connect with and speak with just anyone. In my 40s now, I find myself in many different rooms, on stage, on panels etc. and I really love speaking to many people. I am not afraid to engage and put myself out there. Sometimes it works out beautifully and sometimes it doesn’t, but I always try.
What do you hope is the legacy you will leave behind?
I hope that in my lifetime I am able to uplift, connect and inspire as many people as I can whether it be professionally or personally. Leading a purpose driven life, investing time in meaningful relationships and building community is really important to me. I hope that my legacy is that I played an enriching part (small or big) in someone’s life, made them feel supported and uplifted, and also inspired them to pay it forward.
