Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I would describe myself as creative problem solver with a belief that anything is possible. Naturally, I gravitated towards becoming an entrepreneur and started by first business at age 16. My entrepreneurial journey was impacted by illness in my 20’s but at the same time helped me find my true passion – health. Since then, my path as an entrepreneur has become much more meaningful and have launched 5 businesses over the past 2 decades centered around the topic of health innovations.
Share the story behind your brand.
The story of Bend Beauty is one of passion, perseverance, and a commitment to scientific excellence. Inspired by the idea that true beauty is more than skin-deep, Bend Beauty is elevating nutrition as a foundation of healthy skin and aging. Based on ground-breaking research, the brand launched in 2016 with its flagship product Renew + Protect. The product became the first approved by Health Canada to restore skin elasticity and firmness, enhance hydration, treat symptoms of eczema, as well as protect against the harmful effects of sun exposure. Since then, we expanded our line of complimentary nutraceuticals, focused on skin health & longevity, and sold through skin care professionals and specialty beauty retailers.
What inspires you?
Inspiration is my life force and is fueled by diverse experiences such as the beauty of nature, acts of kindness, the wonders of scientific discovery, grassroots movements, and the transformative power of personal experiences. I will add that some of my greatest inspiration comes from the stories of Bend Beauty customers whose lives have been positively impacted by the brand’s products.

Where’s your favorite summer vacation spot?
Nova Scotia is hard to top for summer getaways. Despite being a small province there is incredible diversity including over 4,000km of coastline, over 100 pristine beaches, and the highest tides in the world. Day trips and weekend excursions scattered through the summer are my preference vs 1–2-week vacations. I like to alternate between active vacations and ones where I’m focused on nothing more than just local food, nature, and the smell of the ocean.
What can we expect from your brand in 2024?
As Bend Beauty continues to grow and evolve you can expect more focus on healthy aging. While it’s important that our products help rejuvenate skin, we feel it’s more important to support the overall aging process. That’s a big part of being and feeling beautiful, at any age.
In 2024 we plan to publish results from our first study focused on slowing the rate of aging in human cells using our flagship Renew + Protect product. We also have plans to launch a new product in the Fall that helps the body cope with chronic stress. This summer I’ll be traveling to Europe to deliver my first masterclass to an audience of estheticians and skin care professionals.
