BREAKING: FAT Virtual Fashion Week Is Back From June 2 Through June 17, 2021

Toronto’s largest and longest running annual multi-arts fashion event Fashion Art Toronto (FAT) is celebrating its longstanding commitment to providing an inclusive platform for the Canadian fashion industry for the sixteenth year in a row.

From June 2 through June 17, FAT‘s Virtual Fashion Week will showcase collections from more than 30 Canadian designers and artists, presented at iconic locations around the city.

Two to three runway presentations will be featured each day, streamed live on FAT’s Instagram page and subsequently posted to the show’s YouTube channel.

Models will strut down the runway in contemporary and experiential collections from Atelier Volpe, AtelierZCY, Carmen Calburean, Eletros x Nicoletta Stefanou, Fred & Bean, Jojee Apparel, Kyle Gervacy, L’uomo Strano, Madaleine Nelson, MAY9 FASHION, Meesh, Mimiela by Ruby Denis, Shaghayegh Tafreshi, Sera GhadakiSilent Simon, Tracy Talhouse, urbancoolab, Victoria Zander and Yung Alexander.

Iconic landmarks from across Toronto will provide picturesque backdrops for the runway shows, including The Bentway, Guildwood Park, Ontario Place, Ripley’s Aquarium, R.C. Harris Water Plant, Scarborough Bluffs, Toronto Botanical Gardens, Union Station, Richmond-Adelaide Centre and Woodbine Racetrack.

As part of a special presentation, designers Remark by Lauren and Patrick Salonga will share sustainable collections made from materials sourced from Value Village that will be showcased at the Value Village Sorting Warehouse.

“For Virtual Fashion Week 2021 we’ve put together a dynamic schedule featuring a diverse range of talented emerging and established designers and artists, along with a ton of beautiful, iconic locations to host the shows,” said Vanja Vasic, founder and executive director of FAT.

“One of the best things about having to host our event virtually is that we’ve been able to reach an even wider and global audience, as well as share more behind-the-scenes content than ever before. It takes of ton of work and lots of talented people to put on a fashion show, and we want to celebrate every moment and person involved. Even though our friends and guests can’t see the shows in person right now, they’ll still be able to feel like they are a part of the action,” Vasic added.
