We’re getting ready for the FIFA World Cup and know that fans across the country are excited to cheer on Team Canada. As we feel the momentum build all around us, Iconic XI was born, an ambassador program created to rally the country behind Team Canada. The idea is simple: bring together 11 well-known Canadians together to celebrate the game.

Developed by Canada Soccer Foundation, in partnership with Infinity &, the Iconic XI is a curated group of 11 of Canada’s most influential figures in entertainment, sport, fashion, music, media, and the arts. Alanis Morisette joins Shawn Mendes, Sidney Crosby and Simu Liu as ambassadors. The program is designed to serve as an amplification platform – celebrating player stories, building excitement around the Men’s National Team, and supporting initiatives that benefit youth soccer through the Canada Soccer Foundation.
Since 1995, Alanis Morissette has been one of the most influential singer-songwriter-musicians in contemporary music. Her deeply expressive music and performances have earned vast critical praise and seven Grammy Awards. Outside of entertainment, she is an avid activist and advocate, focusing on female empowerment as well as spiritual, psychological and physical wholeness.
“As the country rallies behind our Men’s National Team ahead of a home World Cup, we are proud that Canadian icons like Alanis Morissette are stepping forward to build national momentum and drive investment in the future of youth soccer through the Canada Soccer Foundation and its initiatives.”
– Kevin Blue, CEO and General Secretary of Canada Soccer
As the countdown to FIFA World Cup 26 continues, Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team is stepping into something bigger than sports, and with Iconic XI helping carry that energy forward, the road to the World Cup feels like a national celebration.
