This year, we’ve partnered up with Destination TO to bring their holiday activation to life. We are running our pop-up, Shop the Block, at Stackt Market, in the heart of Toronto. “We’re so excited to be popping up this holiday season in our Toronto! We’ve curated a diverse assortment of brands from different neighbourhoods of Toronto. From home decor to holiday gifts to the newest in fashion, beauty, and jewelry we have something for the locals and tourists alike!” says Editor-in-Chief of STYLE Canada, Elise Gasbarrino.

SC: Tell us a bit about yourself
B&M: Hi! We’re Ben and Mark McLean. Brothers and Co-Founders of Benji Sleep.We grew up in King City Ontario just outside of Toronto. Entrepreneurship has been a passion of ours for a while, constantly looking out for the next product or service that could solve a problem.One aspect was always the concept of comfort. Investing in personal comfort between yourself and the ground was a business concept that always resonated with us. The two of us decided to start the business together after countless conversations about the important intersection of sleep and comfort.
After University almost 10 years ago, we decided to move downtown Toronto. When we were shopping for new bedding in a nearby store, we realized that the entire process of shopping for bedding needed to be simplified.

SC: Tell us the story behind your brand
B&M:We weren’t sleep or textile experts. Benji was founded because we knew there had to be a better way! Something different from the overwhelming amount of options to choose from when it came to buying bedding from the traditional big box stores. Benji is all about making it simple!
We set out to simplify the entire process by eliminating your trip to the big-box store, debunking the myths around thread count and offering high-quality, versatile and affordable bedding ALL online.

B&M: Our customers inspire us. We love to ask our customers what else they are looking for from Benji. New colours, patterns or products! It’s so important as a brand to listen to your customers. It’s how we have built Benji into what it is today!

SC: What does 2022 hold for you?
B&M: This year has been about developing new products with the help and direction of our customers. We recently launched our Earth Tone Collection of Bedding products and a brand new throw blanket!

Our favourite holiday gift this year is definitely our NEW Ultra Plush Throw Blanket. We designed it to be big enough to cover your whole body. It’s so soft and comfy, perfect for keeping you cozy on the couch through the cold winter!
