Faces of FAT: Nikki Yassemi, NARCES

Toronto’s longest running multi-arts fashion week, Fashion Art Toronto (FAT) has curated an incredible line-up for their Spring 2023 fashion week. Taking over 20,000 square feet of the industrial warehouse at Black Creek Assembly, it’s going to be their biggest event yet. The event is from Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30 with runway shows and presentations from 50 designers, style-inspired art installations from Canadian artists, an immersive Fashion Cinema curated by CANIFFF, a Fashion & Beauty Retail Boutique and more. Tickets to Fashion Art Toronto are now available online.

Always driven to mix art & fashion to create pieces that are collectibles, through mixing an international background, the luxury of living in a multicultural setting, and forward looking mindset. Fashion that is set on the Spirited Human body as the live canvas and inspiration for the designs that embellish this form.

Humans, Life, Strength, Resilience – Beauty in the Unexpected, Juxtaposing the Unusual Choices, Mixing the Vintage with Present & Future.…  Art that communicates a Feeling and sets a Mood…

Tell us the story behind your brand

NARCES is a womenswear line creating luxury Eveningwear, Cocktail and Bridal designs inspired by the romantic glamour and elegance of the mid 20th century with a bold modern twist. The aesthetic juxtaposes classic and vintage mystique in a loud opulent yet sensual way.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone starting out in your field?

Get experience working in various parts of this complex field, look inwards for your point of view, get specific, do what you love & research your niche, create your content/product/art, validate your ideas through responses, fine-tune the offering, never stop learning and growing and of course actively believe in yourself and your dream.
