This summer, we’ve opened our doors of ‘the edit’, in the vibrant beachtown of Port Dalhousie. Our chic general store features a collection of Canadian brands, and here we take you behind the scenes to learn about the founders and their stories. Our pop-up, located at Lock and Main Marketplace (17 Lock Street), is open Thursday to Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Tell us a bit about yourself:

Shannon Passero is a local Niagara designer known for her beautiful and sustainable fashion creations. Her brand focuses on empowering women and promoting comfort and joy through timeless designs. With a commitment to minimizing environmental impact, the Shannon Passero Collection carefully selects materials, embraces upcycling, and collaborates with like minded artisans who work with lasting and locally-sourced materials. Shannon currently resides in Niagara with her husband Michael and their two energetic daughters.

Tell us the story behind your brand:

With a rich history dating back to 1998 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Shannon discovered her love for design and tirelessly brought her unique creations to North America, Europe, and Australia. Her brand, designed in Canada and manufactured in Thailand, Turkey, and North America, reflects her commitment to ethical business practices.

Each season, the Shannon Passero Collection evolves with a thoughtful focus on minimizing its environmental footprint. The brand achieves this by carefully selecting materials, embracing upcycling, and collaborating with artisans who work with lasting and locally-sourced materials. The result is a collection that seamlessly blends style and sustainability, with each piece becoming a work of art through small-batch and artisanal craftsmanship.

What inspires you?

Inspired by her travels and a deep appreciation for cultural heritage, Shannon creates thoughtfully crafted designs that celebrate sustainability. Thailand’s vibrant night markets and diverse culture inspire her, infusing her creations with magic and vibrancy.

Where’s your favourite spot to vacation in the summer?

Shannon’s ultimate vacation destination is anywhere that involves skiing with her beloved family: her husband Michael and their two daughters. Shannon cherishes the joy of skiing together as a family.

In 2023, the Shannon Passero brand continues the inspiring journey of empowering women every day. The brand is dedicated to sustainability and is always looking to explore new resource integration into innovative designs.
