January; a fresh start in our personal lives and for the team here at STYLE Canada.
You may have noticed that over the last few weeks, more and more of the site’s content has shifted to focus on topics of style, beauty, sustainability, etc., through a purely Canadian lens. Our Instagram got a whole new look that serves as a reflection of where we’re looking to take our aesthetic and subject matter over the course of 2020, and we’ve already brought the STYLE community together to kick off the New Year with partners like FashionTech Toronto, Ryerson University, and Soho House Toronto. You’ll witness several other collaborations throughout the year as we continue to work with like-minded, forward-thinking Canadians who’re pushing the worlds of fashion, beauty, wellness, and personal development ahead for the better and pushing the envelope at the same time.
We look forward to being your main source for all things Canadian and all things lifestyle this year, into 2030, and beyond. To improve the flow of STYLE’s content and still resemble an online fashion magazine, we’ve planned monthly themes that’ll set the tone of what’s being published on the site. In comparison to a traditional print mag, think of these monthly themes as the subjects on the front covers of books you see sitting on newsstands or inside your favourite Indigo. With this in mind, January’s theme of personal development is fitting at a time when New Year’s resolution stakes are high and when we’re staring down a clean slate here at STYLE. Contributor Kristen Vizzari helped us navigate the strange world of online dating apps in How I Found Love Online After 139 Swipes left, and wellness maven Melaina, founder of Salt to Tree, guided us through How-to: Beat Your Resolution Perfectionism.
On the IRL side of things, our Fashion Futures event with Ryerson Fashion Zone and FashionTech Toronto completely sold out! The Soho House Supper Club event we held for all of Toronto’s #LeadingLadies was filled to the brim as well, and hopefully you’re already on the wait list for the next one. Just be sure to reserve your ticket.
You’ll also be hearing a lot more from the team and I this year, and we’re planning a fun ‘get to know us’ series for next month. But first, we want to know some more about you. So, with that, our inbox is a *safe place* and is always open at [email protected]. We want to hear about your side hustles, favourite new beauty finds, or that you simply want to chat.
Until then,
Elise xx
