The Vibe

We love arriving at a Vrbo® cottage and feel like you can actually unplug. We love knowing that  whether it’s raining or the sun is shining, the moments you spend here will be some of your favourite moments, because that’s what anyone can really ask for from a weekend getaway.

The Sutton Lakehouse is far from your average cottage, it’s a luxury retreat, on a 1-acre lakeside property. This newly built, custom-designed retreat is a place made for families and friends who wish to linger over stories shared dangling your feet off the dock. From soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious bedrooms, and beautifully crafted open-concept spaces, the vibe here is one of feeling deeply connected to nature. The modern finishes lend you to knowing full well that this home has it all and so much more. It’s bright. It’s inviting. It’s calling your name.

The Neighbourhood

Located in Utterson on the majestic Three Mile Lake, The Sutton Lakehouse is far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The lakeviews are breathtaking, and really, when you’re cottaging, lakeviews are exactly what you need to relax, unwind and just live. The peaceful surroundings include forests, a sprinkling of homes and wildlife sightings that the kids will love. The home is tucked away, and if you’re looking for a little bit of connection, shopping and restaurants, head over to Port Carling, Bracebridge or Huntsville; all within a 30-minute drive.

The Home

Two words; picturesque lakeviews. It really doesn’t get any better than that. This 4-bedroom custom-designed home is beautiful. Each bedroom is spacious, light-filled and has either a king or queen bed, so plenty of space for the whole family to rest their weary eyes after a day out on the water. Upstairs you’ll find 2 bedrooms, a cozy loft (with a desk if you’re keen on getting some work done) and a full bathroom. Downstairs you’ll find 2 more bedrooms with a full bathroom and the open-concept living space which we fell in love with.

The kitchen is beautifully designed, fully stocked, and has a really spacious island that invites you to have endless conversations while everyone helps with dinner. The dining room is spacious, seats 8 and opens up to the living room and deck. And the living room, well it’s just perfect. With a gas fireplace and lots of places to rest, we spent a lot of time here watching the rain fall down.

We loved sitting on the gated back deck watching the lake ebb and flow against the shore. Plus, having the deck gated gave us peace of mind with our toddler outside knowing she was safe playing outside and not running down to the water! As you wander down to the water you’re met with sturdy pine trees, flowers just about to bloom and a firepit to roast marshmallows. The dock is where we took to attempting to catch some fish and laid down to listen to the quiet hum of nature surrounding us. If you’re keen on swimming or bringing your own small boat to head out on the water, go for it, there’s space to do so.

Whether you’re here to paddle on the lake, or enjoy a peaceful moment in nature, The Sutton Lakehouse is the place to be.

Packing Tips

We recommend stocking up on groceries before you arrive as there’s just a small convenience store close by that has a few staples. Pack your own beach towels, water shoes, life jackets, and anything you think you’ll need while here.

The Verdict

It’s the season of cottage weekends, and you can count us in to create more memories at The Sutton Lakehouse.
