Our team recently checked Back Forty Glamping, and we’re charmed the moment we tuned into the quiet calm of the property and saw the beautifully crafted glamping tents we’d be cocooning in for the weekend. Read all about our experience below.
The Vibe

Tucked amid rolling meadows and whispering woods, Back Forty Glamping offers an experience where sophistication meets stillness. The concept began with an expansive vision and turned into a property where mornings unfold with the sun rising over the fields and evenings are met with a canopy of stars. Every detail invites you to slow down and breathe deeply. The property is home to 7 luxurious geodesic domes with their own private spaces to truly have the space to think, feel and simply be. It’s a place where nature and luxury exist in perfect harmony—a retreat designed for those who crave beauty, connection, and a touch of magic in every moment.
The Neighbourhood

Traditionally, “Back Forty” refers to the most remote, undeveloped part of a property, untouched and filled with the magic and beauty of nature. An abundance of land surrounds the property and the quaint towns (Meaford, Collingwood, Blue Mountain and Thornburry) a short distance away are home to all the charm and warmth you’d wish to feel while out in the country. The region hums with a creative spirit and natural elegance. From winding country roads leading to local farmstands, the beauty of Georgian Bay, the slopes of Blue Mountain and charming shops, each town exudes its own rhythm and charm.
The Rooms

The luxurious geodesic domes are serene sanctuaries of understated elegance. As you walk into your intentionally created space, a comfortable, heated king‑sized bed welcomes you to sink into comfort. Whether you’re spending the weekend in a Meadow or Forest Dome, sunlight filters through the dome’s graceful curves making it this magical experience of catching the sun rising and moon lighting the sky. Take to their Forest Domes for the ‘full sleep under the stars experience’ with their ceiling stargazing windows.
Crisp mornings are met with pressed coffee and tea infusions to enjoy while watching the birds fly through the sky. Each geodesic dome is home to a spacious, functional kitchen with a mini‑fridge, toaster oven, all the fixings you need to allow for leisurely moments and a luxurious bathroom with a rain shower (some domes even have in-floor heating!).

Domes are crafted for privacy with views of the forest, pond or meadows. On your private deck, a steaming hot tub invites you to relax beneath the open sky, a firepit crackles in anticipation of evening stories and s’mores, and BBQ invites you to truly take in the al fresco dining experience. Every element—from soft robes to ambient lighting and the gentle hush of nature—strikes a perfect balance between refined luxury and wild serenity, creating a retreat where time slows and wonder lingers.

With 26 acres of land, Back Forty Glamping is home to trails where you’re surrounded by the beauty of nature. From a sauna overlooking the forest, to trekking through the acres of walking trails, and meditating by the pond, we took to exploring and had many moments where we really truly didn’t want to leave. The owners have thought of everything in creating a luxurious getaway in a geodesic dome. From their newest offering, an In Dome Couples Massage (yes please!) to having gourmet meals prepared by local culinary artists delivered to your dome and booking tours for you around town, every adventure is met with ease and adventure.
The Verdict
That was the most relaxing vacation we’ve been on in a while, and can’t wait to get back.
