4 TIPS TO SET UP YOUR HOME FOR SUCCESS IN 2023

As we enter a new year, it is always encouraged to put a little extra time and attention on your home organizing. Our homes have a direct influence on our emotional and physical health, our relationships, and how we show up in the world.

Set up your space so it supports you, your lifestyle, and your 2023 intentions with these 4 quick tips from Megan Arthurs.

1- DECLUTTER

Out with the old, in with the new. When creating a space that speaks to you and supports your current lifestyle you must first declutter. We all have items sitting around that we no longer nee, use, or love. Use a pile sorting system of 3s to assist with the process- keep, donate, garbage. Don’t forget that creating physical space in your home also leads to mental and emotional space too – they are all interconnected!

2- MAKE SURE EVERYTHING HAS A HOME

If your belongings do not have a specific place to live in your home, things will always feel out of control. Create a system in your home to help you and your family know where items are and know where to put them back. Systems that work well for most families include using organizing product, labeling items, and having rules such as ‘don’t put it down, put it away’!

3- SHOPPING, PATTERNS, AND HABITS, OH MY!

The goal is to keep your home remaining organized throughout the entirety of 2023. In order to remain clutter free, you need to assess your shopping patterns. This is how clutter is accumulated – from the point of acquisition. Make sure that you are only buying in bulk if you actually use in bulk.

4- ITEMS THAT BRING YOU JOY

Our environments have a profound impact on your mental, emotional and physical health. Hence, the importance to set up your space accordingly. Without cluttering your space, how can you implement items that are meaningful to you – plants and flowers, candles, pictures of family. Now is a good time to go through the dusty old family memory boxes and see what is in there that you can actually use and bring into your space. What’s the point of keeping it anyway if it is going to live in a box forever.
