Summer Fridays in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Welcome back to our Summer Fridays Series, where we share the places we love, the moments that make a city feel like yours, and the looks we’d wear to do it all in.

Today, we’re taking you to Niagara-on-the-Lake, our favourite town that makes it feel like we’re living on a Gilmore Girls set. The vibe is garden party meets wine country. Old Town is filled with all the charm you can imagine; historical homes, candlelit strolls, and beautiful gardens that are designed to stop and take hundereds of photos of. Close to Niagara Falls (where you’ll get the full tourist thing), NOTL is all about keeping it slow, lingering over lunch a little longer, and tasting the best wines in the world. Summers in Niagara-on-the-Lake are honestly by far our favourites.

The Look

The Esmeralda Dress is such an easy choice for a summer day in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It has that soft, pretty feel without being too dressed up. It’s the kind of dress you can wear for lunch, wine tasting, wandering through Old Town, or stopping for photos because every corner looks like a postcard. It fits the NOTL vibe perfectly. Pair it with simple sandals, a woven bag, and sunglasses so you’re set for the day!

Mornings in Old Town

Old Town gives you that slow morning type of feel, as you can kinda breathe a little. It’s the centre of NOTL and also what we’re most known for. All lined with historic buildings, cafés, and flower-filled boutiques. It’s the ideal place to begin the day with a coffee in hand, just strolling around town. Swing by our shop, wander into a local gallery, or grab something sweet at Niagara Juice Company; they’ve got the best croissants, those are our favourites. Mornings in Old Town let you set off on a lovely, picturesque note.

Shopping Day at Style Canada

Start your day on Queen Street with a little shopping at STYLE Canada, one of those stops that feels perfectly at home in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Pop in, browse the racks, find something pretty for the day, then wander back out onto the main street. It’s the kind of morning NOTL does best: slow, charming, a little stylish, and full of small-town main street energy.

Wine Country Stops

No trip to NOTL is complete without making time for wine country. There are so many beautiful wineries to explore, each with its own personality. Two Sisters Vineyards brings the elegant estate feel, Peller Estates is a classic NOTL stop, Konzelmann Estate Winery gives you those lakefront views, Between the Lines Winery has a more relaxed, family-run energy, and Wayne Gretzky Estates is a fun one to add if you want something a little more lively. Whether you’re there for the wine, the views, the food, or just the chance to slow down for an afternoon, the wineries are a big part of what makes this town feel so special and a must go to.

Bike Through Wine Country

There’s no better way to explore than from the seat of a cruiser bike. With scenic roads, vineyard views, and watching the waves float against the shore, renting a bike is one of our favourite ways to get around. In fact, we love when the sweet summer sun rolls in, and our morning commute is with our basket cruiser. With guided or self-guided options with any of the bike shops in town, it’s an activity that’s fun for everyone.

Patio Lunch at Corks

For lunch, grab a seat on the patio at Corks Wine Bar & Restaurant, right in the heart of Old Town. It’s the place that makes you want to order something cold, share a few plates, and stay longer than planned while Queen Street moves around you. Casual, chill, and perfectly placed for a midday break, Corks is an easy stop between shopping, wandering and whatever the afternoon brings.

The Shaw Festival

The Shaw Festival is one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s signature experiences. The 2026 season includes productions like Funny Girl, Sleuth, Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense, The Wind in the Willows, Heartbreak House, Ohio State Murders, One for the Pot and Amadeus, giving visitors everything from musicals and mysteries to comedy and classic theatre.

Niagara-on-the-Lake’s lakefront is part of what makes it so beautiful here. Visit Queen’s Royal Park to head out for a paddleboard, go for a walk or enjoy the views from the gazebo. Bring a picnic and lounge waterside all day, or visit Simcoe Park to use the new play structure for kids and roll around in the grass for a little fun in the sun. Take a moment to sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset. We know you’ll fall in love with the town just as much as we have.
