“Whenever we think of Mother’s Day, this first thing the two of us think of is our Mom’s. Not what ‘those’ people are going to do for us.”
…Does that quote not remind you of your own mother? The most loving, caring, selfless person who’s always more concerned about putting you first?
This week on
Let’s Talk About,
Cat & Nat (a.k.a
Catherine Belknap and
Natalie Telfer) put what Moms
actually want for Mother’s Day into perspective for us.
With seven kids and millions of followers between them, Cat & Nat challenge every notion of “the perfect mom” and explain how on Mother’s Day, the best gift may be having to do nothing, at all.
The Toronto-based friends aim to connect women and moms online with the hope that their #MOMTRUTHS dismantle self-created motherhood ideals and unrealistic portrayals of what motherhood “should” be like on social media and TV.

When starting their journeys as moms, both Cat & Nat came to realize the loneliness and isolation that comes with motherhood. Now, their viral #MOMTRUTHS videos have garnered hundreds of millions of views from women who’ve experienced the same feelings.
“We started being able to open up to each other after we had children in a way that we hadn’t done before, and we didn’t realize how important it was to just start talking about how crazy this journey is,” Nat told STYLE Canada’s Editor-in-Chief, Elise Gasbarrino.
Cat & Nat’s regularly-scheduled
Facebook Live show,
best-selling book and
podcast are now an extension of those private conversations, and by tackling topics that moms are afraid to talk about, there’s something for everyone to connect to.
