In February, we started a brand new series on STYLE Canada: #BeautyFind Friday, otherwise known as your new #BFF. Every Friday, STYLE’s Digital Editor, Anastasia Barbuzzi, presents you with a #BeautyFind to help you enjoy a weekend of self-love and care like no other. But this week, EIC Elise Gasbarrino is taking over to proclaim her love for a new #BeautyFind she couldn’t wait to share with STYLE readers. Beauty insiders, get ready to delight in your next Add to Cart item.Â
I’ll start this off with a disclaimer: I am not one for a bold lip. However, I came across BeautyCounter at the goop Sag Harbor pop up a few years back and fell in love with the brand. So, when I met the Executive Director of BeautyCounter, Kate Robichaud at a conference this past winter, I trusted her to lead me down the path of a heavily-tinted lip once and for all.
First impressions: Kate was kind enough to send over the trio package of Beautycounter’s Give ‘Em Lip Colour Intense Lipsticks. My first thought was GREAT packaging! BeautyCounter partnered with Portland-based artist Lisa Congdon to create the limited-edition packaging in celebration of the brand’s seven year anniversary. Next up, the colour. The trio package provided me with 3 options for a different mood and look.
Talkin’ specifics: All three Give ‘Em Lip Colour Intense Lipsticks have a satin-y feel. My lips feel moisturized when I wear them and the colour lasts. (One of the main reasons why I don’t love lipstick in the first place is because I find it to finish dry on my lips, but no issues with that here.) All-natural peppermint oil gives each colour a refreshing feel but my favourite has to be B. Fearless – Neutral Pink – the perfect shade to make a newbie to the bold lip gang feel comfortable wearing colour.
The experience:Â The packaging and lip colours feel uplifting, which is what I need in a lipstick after 10-ish weeks (?) of quarantine. After putting one on for a Zoom call, I felt more like my former, put together self. It’s amazing what a little lipstick can do.
On another note, I’ve been trying to slowly transition my beauty products to cleaner options and love that the Give ‘Em Lip Colour Intense Lipsticks are in line with that goal.
The verdict: During a time that we can all use a little brightening up, start with a new lip colour.
