The STYLE Canada team checked into The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY and loved every minute of our stay.
The Vibe

The Roundhouse celebrates the beautiful intersection of history and modernity. From the moment we arrived, we understood why this family-run property was restored to its glory days and designed with all the modern comforts one could need (and want) in a boutique hotel. Perched above Fishkill Creek, the views are spectacular, the architecture is impeccable, and the idea that you’re in a space that reflects Beacon’s spirit of creativity and resilience makes us love The Roundhouse so much more. To us, the vibe is modern chill. With high ceilings, and architectural integrity at the forefront, the moment you’re welcomed by the friendliest staff you, like us, will likely be in awe of how seriously cool it is to restore an abandoned factory and create a boutique hotel in its place.
The Neighbourhood

Located in Beacon, New York, The Roundhouse is an hour and a half from New York City and in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Think mountain views and a vibrant art scene all rolled into one. The quaint downtown of Beacon is just steps from the hotel, which is home to over a mile of locally owned shops and restaurants (we loved Raven Rose for shopping and Kitchen Coffee for a healthy lunch). If you’re one for an adventure or two, take to the many scenic hikes and quiet moments in nature while exploring the Hudson Highlands.
The Rooms

The guestrooms and suites are like a modern retreat within two distinct historical buildings; The Roundhouse and The Mill. The natural hues, locally crafted finishes and modern amenities are designed for you to rest and relax while enjoying your stay in Beacon. Light filters through the oversized factory windows, the luxurious linens are something out of a storybook and the Lather bath essentials are beautifully crafted. We stayed in the Mill Deluxe 2 Queen Beds and couldn’t get over how spacious the room was! It’s like you could have a dance party in the room without touching any furniture, and when you’re traveling with a toddler, this is always one of our favourite things about a hotel room. With custom, mid-century modern inspired furnishings, you could feel the structural integrity of the rooms and hotel.
The Extras
Morning breakfast brought to your door, need we say more! The hotel provides a complimentary in-room breakfast that we couldn’t get enough of. With fresh bagels and muffins dropped off on the regular and the greatest yogurt you can imagine, this was such a wonderful touch especially as our toddler was ready to go the moment we woke up. This gave us time to ease into the day with coffee in hand and cartoons on.

The Roundhouse Restaurant is home to the most beautiful views, and award-winning cuisine. Home to traditional culinary dishes from the region, the restaurant offers a relaxed, elevated dining experience for all. And as the menu evolves with the seasons, we were able to sit back, relax and know we were in for a treat dining here. We went for a lighter meal while dining here and loved the bold flavours and simplicity of the Summer Salad and kids pasta. As others dined around us, you just knew everyone was all smiles because their meal was that good.
The Roundhouse is also home to beautifully designed event spaces. Whether you’re planning a Retreat in the Hudson Valley or are ready to say ‘I Do’, this is the place to be.
The Verdict
We have friends in the area, and the next time we visit them, we’ll definitely be booking a stay at The Roundhouse.
