TIFF
Toronto’s biggest celebration of film is back. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) returns September 10–20 for its 51st edition, bringing 11 days of premieres, red carpets, star-studded events and some of the most anticipated films of the year to theatres across downtown Toronto. This year’s festival opens with Being Heumann, directed by CODA filmmaker Siân Heder and starring Ruth Madeley, Mark Ruffalo and Dylan O’Brien. Whether you’re catching a premiere, celebrity spotting along King Street or simply soaking up the energy of festival season, TIFF is one of Toronto’s must-do September traditions.
Cake Picnic
Toronto’s sweetest picnic is back for round three. Cake Picnic Toronto takes over a secret downtown location on Saturday, September 19, bringing together more than 400 cake lovers for one seriously sweet afternoon. The concept is simple: every guest brings a homemade cake to share, then when the cake bell rings, everyone fills a box with slices from the incredible creations on display. Beyond the cake, expect a live DJ, photo booth, flower crowns, henna and glam stations, alcohol-free cocktails and coffee. Come hungry and don’t forget your cake.
NY Fashion Week

Fashion month officially kicks into high gear as New York Fashion Week returns September 10–15, unveiling the Spring/Summer 2027 collections. This season’s schedule features around 70 runway shows and presentations from major names, including Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Calvin Klein, Khaite, Carolina Herrera and Tommy Hilfiger, who returns to the official schedule. Thom Browne will close out the week, while Ralph Lauren gets an early start with a September 9 presentation. Expect six days of runway moments, street style and plenty of inspiration for the season ahead.
Milan Fashion Week

Next stop: Milano. Milan Fashion Week takes place September 22–28, showcasing the Spring/Summer 2027 collections from some of Italy’s most influential fashion houses. Prada opens the week, with Gucci, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Ferragamo, Missoni and more filling the schedule. Adding even more excitement, Vogue World: Milan will take over the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on opening day for a celebration of Italian fashion, creativity and craftsmanship. Consider Milan officially the place to watch this September.
Walk for Suicide Awareness 2026
The Distress Centres of Greater Toronto (DCGT) returns for its annual Walk for Suicide Awareness on Sunday, September 13. Hosted during Suicide Awareness Month, the Walk brings the community together to honour those lost, challenge the stigma around suicide and fund life-saving support services. The Walk will follow a scenic path of just under 4.5 km along the shores of Lake Ontario. Participants are encouraged to donate or lead fundraising efforts, with all proceeds supporting DCGT’s free, confidential, 24/7 emotional support, crisis intervention, suicide prevention and survivor support services. Participants will receive a t-shirt and an Honour Bead necklace as a meaningful way to recognize personal connections to the cause and remember loved ones lost to suicide. The Sky Lounge Experience at Hotel X Toronto

Looking for a different way to take in the Canadian International Air Show? The Sky Lounge Experience at Hotel X Toronto is back September 5 and 6 with a special Snowbirds Farewell Edition. Guests can watch the Snowbirds from Hotel X’s High Park Terrace while enjoying music, food, drinks and some of the best views of the action. Ticket options range from access with a lunch buffet to VIP packages with premium seating, drink tickets and a grazing station. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hotel X Toronto.
