Summer Fridays: Banff

Welcome back to our Summer Fridays Series, where we share the places we love, the moments that make a destination feel like yours, and the looks we’d wear to do it all in.

Today, we’re taking you to Banff, Alberta’s iconic mountain town tucked inside Banff National Park, where turquoise lakes, alpine air, charming cafés and dramatic peaks create the kind of summer escape that feels almost cinematic. Known for its natural beauty, outdoor adventure and cozy mountain-town energy, Banff is a place where mornings begin with coffee and fresh-baked pastries, afternoons drift into lake views and gondola rides, and evenings feel best spent lingering over dinner with the Rockies in the background.

The Look

Whether you’re starting the morning with coffee in town, wandering Banff Avenue, or heading to a scenic lunch surrounded by mountain views, the Beatrice Dress from Pink Martini is an effortless Banff staple. Relaxed, flattering and easy to wear, it brings a laid-back polish to a destination that feels both adventurous and refined.

Breakfast at Wild Flour Bakery

Some mornings in Banff are meant to start slowly, and Wild Flour Bakery is exactly the kind of local spot that makes you want to settle in. Located in the heart of town, this artisan bakery café is known for its fresh pastries, sourdough, breakfast sandwiches, granola, coffee and easy grab-and-go options for a day of exploring.

Lunch at The Juniper Bistro

For lunch with a view, The Juniper Bistro is a Banff favourite. Set just outside downtown at The Juniper Hotel, the restaurant pairs a quieter mountain setting with panoramic views, a thoughtful seasonal menu, brunch plates, lunch favourites and daytime drinks that feel made for a sunny summer afternoon.

Canoeing on Vermilion Lakes

There are a few ways to experience Banff more beautifully than from the water. In summer, visitors can canoe on Banff’s glacier-fed waters, with popular paddling spots including Vermilion Lakes. A peaceful, scenic and just adventurous enough. The water and the mountains,  it all come together so that Banff feels like Banff.

Banff Gondola

To end the day on a high note, the Banff Gondola is a must. The ride takes you up Sulphur Mountain for sweeping views of six Canadian Rockies mountain ranges, with a boardwalk, interpretive spaces and mountaintop dining options once you reach the summit. Go for the views, stay for the feeling. From the top, Banff opens up in every direction.
