Two in five Canadians will hear the words, “You have cancer,” in their lifetime. Pink Pearl Canada is on a mission to change the experience for young women facing this journey—and they’re inviting you to be part of it. The goal is simple: save more lives through timely diagnosis and treatment.
But what happens after the diagnosis? For young survivors like our EIC, Elise Gasbarrino, who was in her early 20s when she faced ovarian cancer, the hardest part was feeling alone. Connection to others walking the same path was missing. That’s what inspired her to create Pink Pearl, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting young women affected by cancer through peer support, innovative programs, and shared experiences.
This year, Pink Pearl is inviting the community to We Step Together, a passport-style stroll through the picturesque streets of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Participants will explore the town’s best culinary offerings—sampling fritters, ice wine slushies, gourmet gyros, ice cream, and more—while connecting with others in a meaningful way. We’ll be serving up hot chocolate and wine at our flagship boutique!
The event kicks off at The Gate House with a light breakfast, meditation, and a local vendor fair open to the public. From there, guests can wander through the heart of town, stamping their passports at each stop to create a personalized adventure.
Tickets are $35, covering the full experience, with only 80 spots available. Guests who wish to support Pink Pearl’s ongoing work with young women facing cancer can make an additional donation, eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
Join us on Sunday, October 19th, to sip, savor, stroll, and support a cause that truly matters.
