National Disability Independence Day takes place every year on July 26th, and commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26th, 1990.
The ADA provides protection from employment discrimination and offers better access to goods, services and communications for those with disabilities.
Celebrate Disability Independence Day by reading stories, listening to podcasts, and watching informative and educational videos about the lives of individuals living with disabilities.
STYLE‘s Editor-in-Chief, Elise Gasbarrino, recently spoke to Taylor Lindsay-Noel, an advocate for disability awareness, about understanding disability in our society. The conversation touches on how Taylor’s journey affected her mental health in addition to her physical health journey and what motivates her each day.
Taylor is the founder of Cup of Te and uses her platform to educate others and advocates for disability and mental health awareness in the community.
